Drying Equipment Loans

Loans to farmers to finance the purchase of drying and ventilating equipment for grains and other storable crops will be available through June 30, 1954 the Production and Marketing Administration has announced. A similar Commodity Credit Corporation program to help farmers get new storage facilities has been in effect since October 1949 according to H. S. Barksdale, chairman, Rappahannock PMA County Committee.
The equipment for which farmers may finance the purchase includes Mobile mechanical dryers, air circulators, ventilators, tunnels and fans. The loans are for a maximum of 75% of the delivered and assembled cost and are payable in three annual installments. The interest rate is 4% a year.
