LADIES AUXILIARY SEES DEMONSTRATION
Representing the Modern Methods products, Mrs. Lillian Eaton present-, ed a demonstration to the members and guests of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rappahannock Volunteer Fire Company, last Monday night. Games were played, prizes awarded and refreshmen'.s enjoyed._
In their business meeting Monday evening the auxiliary decided to postpone the planned bake sale and to accept the proposal to have charge of the food table for the home carnival sponsored by the Fire Company.
The August meeting is to be held ?•*. Davis Lake. Members will bring, their supper and enjoy an evening oft fun after the meeting.
AUXILIARY MEETING
The Ladies Auxiliary to the Amissville Volunteer Fire Company held its regular monthly meeting in the fire hall last Wednesday night. New officers were elected for the coming year. They were: President, Mrs. Dorothy Hackley; Vice President, Mrs. Sarah Jenkins; Treasurer, Mrs. Charlie Compton; Secretary, Mrs. Mary Priest; Chaplain, Miss Laura Doyle.
The Auxiliary has made great progress since it was organized a year ago in July. It was organized with 23 members; now it has 53.
During this time, it has made a very good amount of money.,The money has been made by having a carnival last year, card party, Stanley party, lunch sold at Palmer’s sale, bake sale, variety show, and food proceeds from the dance held in the fire house June 19. ,
It has also payed for having the building plastered, light fixtures; they have ‘bought linoleum for the kitchen; blinds were donated by the members; get well cards were sent to the sick, and flowers were given to <the deceased members. Baskets were' given to the needy families. Dishes and a lamp were chanced off which brought a very good sum.
