Friday, August 2K-Mrs. Mary Thompson.
An outstanding week of 4-H camp was held at Powell’s Fort the past week, August 3-8. 101 campers attended from Page, Warren, Clark and Rappahannock with 32 of this number attending from Rappahannock. 4-H’ers attending were Judy Black, Faye Black, Elizabeth Smith, Peachy Lyne, Nancy Brown, J. W. Brown, Walter B. Kilby, Holly Updike, Mary Lou Davis, John Turner, John Jenkins, Cathy Laing, Frances Walker, Carol Rowzie, Myrla Ann Updike, Elmer Foster, Arthur Smoot, Billy Nicholson, Pat Porter, Carolyn Turner, Bucky Kuhn, Lucy Lillard, Elwood Wines, Shirley Smoot, Billy Wines, Jack Rutherford, Janet Lillard, Paula Miller, Eleanor Atkins, Ginger Russell, Dolly Ljjlard, and Caroletta Gough.
Rappahannock campers contributed much to spirit of the camp. Pat Porter and John Turner were recognized Friday night at Council Circle as outstanding campers. Dolly Smith was selected as the girl to represent the Hand H at the candle light service and Caroletta Gough was chief of Eagle tribe during camp.
