Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Rawls and son, John Ashburn and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Star of Hanover County were guests Sunday of Mrs. Rawls’ brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Miller.
Mrs. V. R. Updike and Miss Elizabeth Verner were in Charlottesville last Tuesday.
Miss Elsie Mae Jenkins returned to her home Sunday after spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Manuel in Winchester. Mr. and Mrs. Manuel spent Sunday with Mrs. James Lillard, Johnnie Jenkins returned to Winchester to spend this week with Mr. and Mrs. Manuel.
BRIDGE PARTY
Mrs. D. D. Miller of Maple Springs was hostess to a dessert bridge last Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Her guests Wednesday evening were Mrs. W. R. Wire, Mrs. Earl Edmonds Mrs. Wallace Critzer, Mrs, N'ed Jones, Miss Belle Strother, Mrs. J. W. Price, Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Mrs( L. J. Turner, Mrs. George H, Davis, Mrs. Elizabeth DeBergh, Mrs. C T. Bruce, Mrs. John DeBergh, Mrs. W. H. Massie Jr., Mrs. William Litsey, Mrs Thomas Eastham and Mrs. W.L. Keyser. After game, prizes were tawarded by the hostess to Mrs. C. T. Bruce, for high score; Mrs. Turner for traveling and Mrs. Will Keyser, consolation.
Thursday evening guests were Mrs. Charles Wood, Mrs. E. R. Browning, Mrs. Robert L. Massie, Mrs. Emory Russell, Mrs. William Gilbert, Mrs. Brown Miller, Miss Louise O’Bannon, Mrs. Dyke Quaintance, Mrs. R. E. Thompsen, Mrs John Davis, Mrs. J. W. Price, Miss Belle Strother, Mrs. C. T. Bruce, Mrs. Elizabeth DeBergh and Mrs. B. M. Miller. The prizes were awarded to Miss Strother for high score, Mrs. Gilbert for traveling and Mrs. Bruce, consolation.
