power service, at reasonable rates, and at rates that are prescribed, authorized and approved by the State Corporation Commission of Virginia, and that it will maim tain its properties, works and structures located within the Town of Washington in good order throughout the term of this grant. Section 7. All the rights and privileges hereby granted to said grantee may be exercised by any successor or successors, assignee or assignees of the said grantee, but said successor or successors, assignee or assignees, shall be subject to all the provisions, obligations, stipulations and penalties herein prescribed. ' Section 8. The rights and privileges hereby granted shall continue for a period of twenty-four (24) years, beginning June 27, 1959, and ending June 27, 1983, unless the same be sooner voluntarily surrendered by the said grantee, or unless the saipe be sooner forfeited as. provided by law. ‘ Upon the expiration of the term of this grant and upon the termination of the rights hereby granted, by surrender, forfeiture, or otherwise, all of the poles, wires, conduits, lines and other property of the said grantee in the streets, avenues, parks, bridges, and other public iplaces of the Town of Washington shall be removed from the streets, avenues, parks,' bridges and other public places of the said Town, at the expense of the owner, within a reasonable time after the expiration or termination of said rights and privileges.

Section 9. The right of the said Town to impose any lawful franchise, license, property, or other' lawful tax, shall not be deemed to be in any manner waived or abridged.
