Tljere will be choir rehearsal at the Hopewell Baptist Church, Thursday, August 13 at 8 p.m. Miss Edna M. Stafford in charge.
There will be services this Sunday, August 16 at First Baptist church, Washington. Sunday School will begin at 10 o’clock and church services will begin at 11 o’clock. Rev. R. C. Davis, pastor.
The Northern Virginia Hunt Club and Races will take place Saturday, August 15 at the American Legion Memorial Park formerly known as the Culpeper Fair Grounds. This show will be given for the benefit of the Atheletic Deparmtent_of George Washington Carver Regional High School, Culpeper. The club is composed of all outstanding negro horse owners and breeders of, Northern Va. This is the largest colored show in America. At present there are mere than sixty entries for the show and races, 'i he feature event of the day .will be two and one half mile steeple chase over one of the finest courses in the State. A gold cup will t>e presented the winner and after the owner having for three consecutive years won the cup will become the property of the owner or exhiljitor. _
