Local Carnival Nets $1
The local firemen's carnival grossed $1249. 71. Taking out expenses for the building of the stands plus prizes and miscellaneous, the net was $1006.71.
Amissville VFD Receives
Gifts
Several gifts to the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department were announced at its regular meeting last week.
C. W. Porter of Alexandria and Amissville has donated the electric water pump for the new firehouse.
R. D. Hitt gave a battery charger, and T. C. Barron, a booster, for the department’s fire trucks.
A; C. Latham; -Jr. has demateda combination secretary-cabinet for filing the department’s correspondence.
Department members expressed appreciation for the gifts.
RETURNS FROM HOSPITAL
James Settle, who has been a patient in the University of Virginia hospital, returned to his home Monday.
