Preston Jerri*
A Preston Jarvis, son of Mrs. Jaenie Jarvis of Sperryville, has received the coveted God and Country Scout Award, the highest Religious Award a Boy Scout can receive. The award was presented by the Reverend L. W. Topping in a ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, N. C.
“The work required for the God and Country Award,’’ Rev. Topping said, “brings the boy into closer relationship with God, and into a closer relationship with his church and his pastor. The requirements which a Boy Scuot must meet to be eligible to receive the God and Country Award, are numerous and rigid.”
Preston, a member of Sea Scout Ship one and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster of troop 36, holds the rank of Life Scout. He has been active in the affairs of Sea Scout one, and troop 36 for several years.
