Warriors, 53-29
Rappahannock High Panthers suffered their worst defeat in five games on Monday night when the Warriors of Warrenton ran up a 53-29 score against them on the latter’s home court.
The Panthers started fof on what appeared to he (at first glance) a successful night but the game soon turned into almost a free-fro-all. The Panthers lost four boys via the personal foul route. Sonny Brown was high man for the losers with 16 points, scored on 4 field goals and eight fouls. _ .
Girls Lose In Close Gome
In a close game, the Panther girls’ basketball team lost to Warrenton on Warrenton’s home court, Monday night with the final score standing 42-48. Jean Brown was high scorer with 30 points; Mable Hawkins sunk a total of 11 points. Lois Racer tossed a free throw for one point. Guards Bessie Dodson, Shirley Williams, Virgie Atkins, Margaret Devers, Betty Johnson, Joyce Clark, ^nd Betty Bruce also worked hard to win victroy for their team.
