We hav'e been reading quite a bit lately about hiding behind the Fifth Amendment Some of them we feel 'justified and some not. Senator Joe McCarthy has been the loudest to holler about the Fifth Amendment hiders — but I have not been able to figure out the difference in them and a senator hiding behind senatorial immunity and slandering our Army’ officers and other citizens of this country. Joe McCarthy knows full well that he is immune from prosecution so he rants and raves on like a braying ....

All indications are that the citi- • zens of the 'county are satisfied with the proposed tax rate increase—or either they are waiting to air their views when the meeting is called to discuss this all- — important question. May 10th is the date set for this discussion. I predict that the court room in Washington will be a scene of verbal barrages directed at the Supervisors. I am glad to be sitting on the sidelines and not at the desk there that day.
