Plans Festival For
September 17 and 18
Amissville’s Third Firemen’s Festival will be held Fridaay and Saturday September 17 and 18. It was decided at the April meeting of the community’s volunteer fire department. A new executive committee, to ■ centralize authority and act quickly on general policy and other necessary decisions, has (been established by the -department. » President Thomas Tear will head the committees which consists of four other members representing any activities of -the department. They are Chief Charles Compton representing the operating staff; Col. T. If. Caperton representing firehouse and grounds maintenance; Capt. L. B. Stuart representing treasury and finance; and Lloyd Bywaters representing membership. President Tear wilT represent the administrative staff.
Col. Caperton as chairman of the house committee will be assisted by E. G. Hackley. A third member of the committee has not yet been appointed. • .
Elmer Jenkins and Floyd Hitt are the other members of the membership committees, of which Lloyd Bywaters is chairmaa.
