Replies to the department’s appeal for funds for the purchase of z sorely needed new fire engine are still coming in, arid will be reported by Treasurer L. B. Stuart next week. Over $500 iri donations were received during the first week or so of the fund drive. A program of other fund-raising activities is being worked out by the executive commttees and will bd presented to the department for its approval on completion. Last year’s Amissville Fireman’s Fall Festival netted over $3,000 fori, the volunteer firemen, which made possible completion of the department’s fine new firehouse. This year's Festival is expected to help defray'the cost of new equipment.
