In this csson we see the foreshadowing of the dividing of the Kingdom of Solomn into two hostile Kingdoms. What are some of these forces which entered into this process?
At first King Solomn was a very humble man, ferocrent in prayer and faithful unto God in religious worship. This accounts for the wisdom he had and for the mushroom like rise of his kingdom to one of greatness and importance in the realm of world affairs. But as time went on he began to let the pride of life, possibly resulting from his wealth, etc, the lust of the eye and flesh turn him from the Lord to other gods and along with the unholy alliance with the heathem nations through marrying their daughters and bringing them into the Lord's Kingdom also • helped * turn- him completely from yGod to idalitry. However, he himself tnay not have openly worshipped the idols of his many wines, but his compromising attitude toward such things in order to please the many wines and keep peace in his harem is just as guilty as though he had committed the crime himself. He knew, better, but permitted it to be carried on and also this encouraged others df the children of Israel do like
