Miss Updike, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Updike of Slate Mills was easily one of the most popular students among the 2-year business students on the Madison campus. Her friendly smile and attractive personality made her many friends. She was an active member of the Young Women’s Christian Association on Madison College campus, the Madison Business Club and the Wesley Foundation. > .. Phyllis plans to spend several weeks with her family before leaving for Washington, D. C. where she will accept a secretarial position.
