On 6 January, 1954, . I was elected Treasurer of the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department to succeed Mr. T. C. Barron who resigned as of the date and to fill his unexpired term.
In order to make my position clear and to avoid any misunderstanding in regard to the annual election of officers to be held on June 2, 1954 I hereby sumbit my resignation as Treasurer of the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department as of that date.
I wish further to state that in view of the short time I have been a resident of Amissville and the shorter time a member of the Department, that I prefer not to be renominated or reelected. I respectfully recommend to the Department that it nominate and elect a member who is a long-time resident of Amissville and a longer
