To date all I have been able to find out is that there are $19,600 in bonds with accumulated interest since 1948, on the water system. Last year approximately $2100.00 was collected from users of water in the Town of Washington. From that $2100.00 $760.00 was jpaid to a trustee*—for what? $760.00 to a lawyer—for what?
this amount had been applied on the bonds, three of them could, have been retired or some bond holder could have been getting a small part of the interest due him on his investment. , * —One person has stated that the .town should pot buy the bends ^ because (the reservoir ,is inade• puate and the supply of watet was not sufficient for the town— another instance of misrepresentation—-purchasers of these bonds were led to believe that the water for the town was adequate to sup/ j>ly the town and more with water and the revenue therefrom would pay the bonds off plus interest.
Only last year a new pump was installed at a cost of about $1090, did you help pay for that pump or did the people who invested their money some years ago that * we might have water in the town, v pay Tor it? ' : >
At the rate of $2100.00 a year revenue from the consumers of water in town it seems like these, bonds plus the interest can be paid —provided $1600.00 is not spent each year, for someone writing a few letters or making a few phone r calls. ;.__v.i'
