The Washington Baptist church held its Vacation Bible School last week with a general enrollment of 95 and an average attendance f 82. Rev. G. M. Profitt served as principal; Mary Jenkins, Mrs.7 R. V. Snead, Mrs. Morgan Johnston and Mrs. Marilyn. Briley in the beginner dept.; Mrs. Lewis Turner, Mrs. Frank Jones and Mrs. Edward Clark , were in charge of the primary dept.; Mrs. Gilbert Updike taught the junior boys and Miss Mary Miller Wood, the junior girls. Mrs. C.G. Reid and Mrs. G. M. Profitt, the Intermediate. Mrs. John Updike, Mrs. Irving Sisk and Mrs. W. C. Campbell served refreshments. The Washington Cash Store riid Lea's Cash Store each contributed 10 lbs of sugar. There were some other contributions also.
The picnic was held on the church lawn Friday afternoon with a large crowd attending. Mrs. L. J. Turner, Mrs. R.V. Snead, Miss Mary Miller Wood and Miss Ruby Jenkins were in charge of the refreshments. A good time was enjoyed by all.
