j Mrs. Catherine Jenkins Vannoy, member of the George Mason' Elementary School* faculty and former president of the Alexandria Education Association, has been appointed vice-president of District H, association of public school teachers in Northern Virginia. The vacancy which Mrs. Vannoy’s appointment fills was created when Joe Little, president of District H, and principal of George Mason High School in Falls.Church resigned his position and Craghill Burks, vice-pres- ; ident .of District H and supervisor of secondary education for' Fairfax County became president. '.'.r ’ Mrs. Vannoy, a , native of Washington, the former Catherine Jenkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wi B. Jenkins, holds a B.S. degree in Education from Mary Washington College of the 'University of Virginia. There she was president of Alpha Tau Pi, a national scholastic society. She is a charter member and past, president' of Mu Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma, national honorary society for professional women educators.
Mrs. Vannoy has had 18 years < experience in the class room of northern Virginia; is a member of. the Alexandria Education Association; The Virginia Education Association; and the National Educational Association. She has served as a member of the Budget Com* mittee of V.E.A. and also as a "member of the Committee for the' Revision of the Virginia State —Course of Study. She is a member of Martha Washington Chapter of the Eastern Star.

The Rev. Frizzell was ordained deacon at the June commence* ment of the Virginia Theological' Seminary, Alexandria. The Rev.' and Mrs. Frizzell with their three children moved into the. rectory on Mt. Salem Ave. in Washington, Wednesday.— -
The Rev. and Mrs. Frizzell were in town this past week, looking over the situation and were luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Miller of Maple Springs.
