Seven thousand, tour hundred ninty-five dollars ($7,493) was grossed from the Fall Festival of the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department last Thursday, ‘Friday, and Saturday nights according to latest figures received from the Department. A gross take from the stands of $3,164 and a total of $4,331 from the sale of prize tickets is indicative of the success. The largest crowd ever assembled in Amissville, according to long-time residents, appeared on Saturday night and'an assemblage of nearly a like amount was present to virw the parade on Friday night. Queen Carolyn? Sander, who was crowned on Thursday evening led the parade on Friday, followed by approximately forty pieces of fire and rescue apparatus from the surrounding areas. On Saturday night, suspense was high through the drawjing by Queen Carolyn for prizes awarded by the “Chance Stand” which included distribution of a toaster, percolator, shotgun, frying pjsn and other valuable articles until the drawing for the grand prizes when the car stand, where die djscision was to be made, was comjpletely surrounded by a crowd of: eager participants, many deep. • *•!
