runs are well under way for the administration of second doses of Salk Poliomyelitis Vaccine! in the Southwest Health District. Vaccine on hand left from, the fur nished for first doses will be used It seems wise to follow with ad ministration of second doses elsewhere in the state between October 1 and 15. Vaccine for this purpose will be furnished by the N.F.I.P. .It is urged that organization for the second round be started immediately and that provsion be made for storing the vaccine ori its receipt (shortly before October 1).
According to instructions from the N.F.I.P., no children can be .accepted for first doses. Only second dpses and booster doses for those eligible in field trial areas may be given.
Since the Medical Society of Virginia meets October 16, it is suggested that plans be made for completion of regular clinics and make-up clinics before this date.
Immediately following completion of administration of the vaccine, each local health director should assemble the records of those who have been given the vaccine. The manufacturer’s name and the lot number of the vaccine should be recorded on the back of each of the 3x5 individual record cards.
Advice on the use of the Salk vaccine that will be provided through federal funds will be given as soon as possible.

Ollie Alther spent a few days at home recently. His mother returned to Washington, D. j C. with him to be near Georgetown Hospital, where she is receiving treatment due to a dog bite.
Among those from Washington who attended the showing of the film ,“A Man Called Peter’!’ in Culpeper, Monday night were Mrs. F. D. Wood, Miss Mary Miller Wood. Mrs. C. R. Racer, Miss Betty Blagg. Mrs. C. G. Reid and Mrs. Bruce Bowie.
Miss Alene Grimsley is now attending St. Anne’s Preventorium Mission Home, near Charlottesville.
Charles Wood Keyser was a Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. Downing Wood at Sunny Side.
Airman Second Class and Mrs. Everett J. Estes and little daughter, Ginger Sue, who have been spending some time with Mr. Estes’ mother, Mrs. Bertha Brock, returned ^Tuesday to Moody Air Base, Valdosta, Georgia. Sgt. First Class and Mrs. George E. Terry and little daughter, Wanda Lee. spent the week with Mrs. Terry’s mother, Mrs. Bertha Brock, returning Monday morning to their home in Fayetteville, N. C.
