Home1 runs and strikeouts aplenty promise to be the order of the day Sunday, as the Flint Hill and Washington Women take blue jeans and creaky joints out of mothballs for a benefit baseball game on the Moffett diamond, Washington. ^
Made up of the young and the less young, single and married in each community, the teams promise an exciting game for the spectators. Mrs. Virginia Estes, managing the Washington Women,' reports the following ladies as willing to come out of retirement to compete with the Flint Hill team: Jean Althur, Louise Cloud, Julia Mae Atkins, Mable Hawkins, Betty Jean Settle, Neville Wood, Ruth Clark, Peggy Beahm, Annie Mae Dodson, Lois Racer, Gladys Bowie and “Ginny.” (It is not definite that all of these ladies will be playing Sunday.)
Mrs. Gaynell Russell, manager of the Flint Hill Women’s team* has not finished contacting prospective members at press timev but “we bet,, they’ll have a good team on the field, come Sunday evening.”
