Individual laurels for persons and counties were as follows:. Madison County won the Johnson-Washington-Conyers gold cup for having the largest number of entries (255); Culpeper County Was second with 115 Rappahannock County placed third in that department with 99 entries; and Orange County, dropping below its normal with only 94 entries. There was a total of 563 entries. Mrs. Lucy Childs of Woodville had the highest number of individual entries with 39; Miss Lizzie Harrison of Brightwood was second with 36; and Mrs. Clifton Hill of Criglersville was third with 30. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Hill and family of Madison County received the honor of having the largest number of entries for an individual family (63). ' The total staff of judges for the - . •fair were: Mrs. J. R. Melton, Miss Grace Jennings, J. R. Melton, C. L. Conyers, C. Logan, James Butler, H. G. Golden and J. P. Pompey. The Regional Agricultural Advisory Council and the Agricultural Department of Carver Regional High School extends the deepest appreciation to all who helped to promote the fair.
Young Farmers Prepare
For State Contest
The young farmer club of Carver High School has been making preparations for the State Forestry Judging Contest. This contest will be held on October 14th (tomorrow.) Although this will be our first time to participate, we are hoping to bring back a trophy. The team of three will be selected from the following young farmers: Howard Garnett, Thomas Carpenter, Charles Garnett, Lawrence Blankenbaker. Eugene Ferguson, and Rodman Blankepbaker.
There will be a dinner at Pine Knot Inn, November 11th giver by the Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 174 of Front Royal, beginning a) 12 noon.
