October Meeting

The Washington Town Council -met Tuesday night, October 11 for their monthly meeting.

Mrs. Davis reported that she , and Mrs. Hawkins had measured the Merrill alley—a report of 40 feet will be sent in to the Highway Department in order that the alley will be included in the sys-' tern as such, and taken care of as was the alley, in front of the Baptist Church (graveled, etc.) »

Upon contacting W. A. Miller, J, postmaster, concerning putting up a-flag, (as have the majority of * postoffices in this vicinity) it was found that there was no convenient place to put up one* as it would interefere with the light wires. Mrs. Davis will talk over this problem with the owner of the, building, attempting to find a place where it can be erected.

Reports were heard on the prices of a power lawn mower for use in « the town. As reports f ran - all viciriities were not available ami the problem was not pressing, this was tabled. It was ‘agreed to contact L. V. Merrill in regard to cleaning up the*alley. t ...» ■ There teas discussion on leasing a dumping ground fromv Aubrey, Keyser instead of the considered • lease from the Dewey Hudsons.
