Amendment
1. The proposed amendment has as its avowed purpose the avoiding' of immediate integration. This could t>e done without resorting to such radical measures as using public money - for. private education.
2. There was no reason for the precipitate haste in placing this question before the public since the Supreme Court allowed for the special problems in some areas and did not demand immediate compliance with their decision.
3. In the opinion of eminently
qualified lawyers it is provable that the Gray Commission recommendations, if adopted, will be invalidated by the. Supreme Court.
4. Graduates of Virginia schools private or public, under this system, will risk exclusion from accredited colleges.
5. Public schools will probably become sub-standard by reason of the diversion of funds for private schools. >'
