At the monthly meeting of the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department held at the fire hall on February 1st 1956, details to various committees for the earning year . were made. Of interest was the House Committee with William R. Smith, the new vice president a$ chairman. Duties of the Committee are to coordinate use of the Hall by the many groups and organizations desiring to make use of Department facilities. The Committee requests that those wishing use of the hall, communicate with Mr, Smith at Mountain View Restaurant and Cabins in Almissville at a date sufficiently in advance of the proposed use in Prder that arrangements may be properly made. The Treasurer reported donations from Mr. J. L. Bray and Mr. Lee YoweU. ' ,
A rash of flue fires in the early mornings 'and a fire from an overheated stove have kept the Department* busy during the past two weeks. The latter fire at the home of Mr. Will Latham on Saturday evening was only prevented from reaching serious proportions by the prompt arrival of the firemen.
