Jn the year 1872 the church called Thomas F. Grimsl^y, son of the much beloved pastor. He served for seven years and was. followed by S. J. Fristoe, Hugh Goodwin, Ajtwell Tucker and F. P. Berkley, l'he church membership wfas increased to a total of sixty-five at the turn of the century.:
. j • ; j I Within the next few years, the debt incurred while building the house was eliminated and the church was more •thoroughly organized by the election of a faithful corps ojf deacons namely: Anson Dearing, Alfred Dearing, and Jjames Moore. Each of these continued to serve as long as h|e lived. Dr. John S. Browning was elected clerk and served faithfully for many years. Dr. Browning was the youngest of this group. ,
jin Aprl, 1904 it was decided advisable to organize a Sunday School and all were asked to me£t at 10:00 a.m. on May 1, 1904. jH
September 26, 1906 saw another of the Flint Hill church called into the services of God, when W. G. Dearrwas
ordained to the Gospel Ministry.
In 1909 Rev. Charles Clement came as pastor and continued in that capacity until 1911. .
The^ear 1912 saw W. J. Reynolds serving as pastor. In 1914 Rev. Charles Clement returned to serve for another period of time, sfeven years, or until 1921. In 1919 4he church voted to discontinue services on Saturday.
I In Nove^fibeir 1826 a call was extended to Rev. P. H. Chelf. Mr. Chelf gave himself faithfully and devotedly to the cause for 19 years, when failing health forced him to resign in September 1945. «
Rev. L. R. Broughman accepted the call to this church in September, 1945, and served until December, 1948.
; Rev. M. E. Sliger accepted the call to this church In 1949 and served until 1952.
j Rev. G. M. Profitt accepted the call to this church in October, 1952 and served until June, 1965.
Rev. Johri Divers, the present pastor, accepted a call to tjiis church in October, 1955.
The present deacons of the church are: B. J. Wood, Earl Edmonds, David Corbin, O. W. Gilbert, Jr., Richard Latham. *
The present church membership is 130. Sunday School is held every, Sunday morning with David Corbin superintendent. j
