Pvt. Henry Wood, Jr.
Receives Basic
At Fort Carson
Pvt. Henry B. Wood, Jr., whose parents live in Woodville, is receiving basic combat training with the 8th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado.
Pvt. Wood is training with the division’s 13th Regiment. The unit is preparing for its move to Europe next fall as part of Operation Gyroscope.
The twenty-four year old soldier was graduated from Sperryville High School in 1949.
