Much regret was expressed at I the resignation of Mr. Bruce Bowie as chairman, as much has been accomplished during his tenure of office. Disasters in the county have been taken care of, the needs of service were promptly attended to, and First Aid courses given. These are but a few of the Red Cross services Rappahannock county has benefited from.
Mrs. Martin and Mrs. O’Connell stressed the importance of securing a permanant chairman and a Home Service chairman as soon as possible, as the Red Cross program cannot function in the county without them. ( j
Another meeting has been called for Wednesday May 16th. Citizens of the county are urged to attend. The place, Washington Fire House, Time 3 P. M.

, Mrs. G. W. Smith entertained the Washington Bridge Club Thursday evening. Those playing were, Mrs. D. D. Miller, Mrs. C. T. Bruce, Mrs. Wade H. Massie Jr., Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Sr., Mrs. Harry Lee Smith, Mrs. M. R. Bradford, Mrs. R. L. Massie and J. E. Keyser.
