Welfare Situation '
The Board of Supervisors, meeting Wednesday morning for their May meeting, turned down a request by Welfare Suprintendent Elisabeth Buntin for $141.00 additional funds to finish the fiscal year. The one hundred dollars . was for administration expenses (travel expenses, etc.) and the forty-one dollars, for old age assistance.
Supervisor Buckner suggested that the Board of Supervisors might be able to help Mrs. Buntin in deciding who needs the assistance, asking her if there were “any applicants last month”. It was Mr. Buckner’s understanding of the law, he continued, that Mrs. Buntin was supposed to come ~ before the board each month with each application for relief. Mrs. Buntin explained that this was not her understandings of the law.
