Look for hog prices to slack off a little more this week, since slaughter is getting into its seasonal increase.
Receipts in the 12 major markets last were up 2% from the preceding week, but are still well below last year’s figure.
All markets were lower last week Western, 25 to 50c lower .at $16.25 to $16.50; Richmond yards, 50c lower at $16.73 to $17 Virginia auction, 35c lower at $17.05; and Baltimore, $1.00$125 lower at $17.-$17.25.
