The registrar' for this election was Russell Lee Kilbv. Our room secretary was Mary ’Helen Williams. Four mothers consented to have their names appear on the ballot for Room Mothers.
Rufus Frye was appointed to act as secretary and ballot judge at the poles on election day.
October 12 was Registration Day for us. 17 pupils paid their league dues of 36 cents and registered. 13 pupils passed and voted in the Election.
After the candidates made their stub speeches, preparations were made for getting out the campaign speeches All speeches were to be written and checked no later than October 29th. .On November 1, the speeches were made by all candidates before the entire school. (Some candidates were nervous.)
Mrs. Austin stated in her remarks to the candidates for entertaining them, that the election would certainly prove to be a close one. as all the candidates had made beautiful speeches.
The returns from the election showed that Rosemary Wallace had been elected president, James T. Williams, vice-president, Gladvs Allsberry, assistant secretary, Stoney Frye, treasurer, Maude L. William, program committee. Mrs. Beulah Wallace, room mother.
