Production Says VPI
Farmers who are looking around for another source of income might do well to consider commercial ■egg production.
Agricultural economists at VPI say Virginia is an egg-deficit state. About 110,000.000 dozen eggs are consumed each year in Virginia, but only about 76.000,000 dozen are produced. If all the eggs produced in Virginia were used in the state, it would still take 2,113,000 more laying chickens to supply the needs.
