(This is the way prospects for Virginia farm prices looked to the Virginia Department of Agriculture on Friday. The Department offers it to farmers with the warning that no one can predict prices and be right all the time.)
CORN Corn prices in Virginia should hold about where they are for the next week or so.
Supplies in commercial areas are enough to satisfy the need, but aren't great enoughs to force the price down.
Prices at the close of last week were: Norfolk $1.30-$1.32; Richmond. $1.28; Petersburg, $1.33; and Harrisonburk, for 14% moisture com, $1.45.
Substantia] parts of die commercial area crop have been harvested, a little early this year because of increasing use of machinery. >
