The Washington Methodist( ; Church was the scene of much activity this past week. Mr. George Hawkins and several of his car' penters started and almost completed four new clay rooms at the church.
Mr. Hawkins followed plans that had been drawn up recommended to the church by Mr. Paul Walker and the pastor, Rev. C. D. Goodson. These plans called for utilization, of the unused space at the back of the church. * The balcony area, both upstairs and down was enclosed The stairway was also enclosed to shut out any sound from one room to another. When all the work is completed, it will be made available five different areas where discussions may be held without any disturbance from the other groups. ' The total cost of the operation is not known as yet, but it » expected to run around $400.00. Several of the members have made contributions to help meet this exI pense. The ladies of the church are planning for several dinners after the first of the year. This will also be used to meet the construction costs.
A drive was launched this past I Sunday for new church and Sun. day School members, and the slogan for the period will be lEVERY ONE BRINQ ONE.
