Why We Need A New
High School
The Rappahannock County High School Parent-Teachers Association recently sponsored an essay contest among students enrolled in the R. C. H, S., entitled “What A New High School Would Mean To Me.” This is the first of eight of the best essays submitted.
Stop and think, everyone, about our school. We need a new one. Everyone is talking about a new school. Haven’t you heard? Our school is not large enough, how do I know? I have gone to this small school for three and a half years.
The auditorium is used for a gymnasium. It has two small rooms on both sides. When the students are playing basketball it is hard to hear and know what is going on inside, these side rooms. We Vill be busy doing our school work when bang! bang I will go a basketbbal! up against the walls • and doors. Now stop and think, who could study and pass with such a ooise? Could you? No, you or no one else could.
All fathers and mothers should want their children educated. So why not help to educate them by building a new school?
A new school would benefit us in many ways. We could have more room for more school supplies to help educate the children better. It is so crowded we don’t have enough supplies for all the pupils
