WHEAT
As we’ve said before, the wheat outlook this year is favorable. Carryover promises to be low, and demand looks good. Since it looks like the price should stay well above support,, aim for high yield from your 1957 crop.
CORN
We look for corn prices to follow the usual pattern - advancing slightly from now into the spring and summer months.
Unless insects or your farm work situation pushes you to move your corn right away, you neednot rush to market. There could be an extra 15c by August in Virginia's producing areas.
Prices at the end of last week were: Richmond jfl.38; Norfolk, $1.30 to $1.40; knd the Valley area area *1.45 to $1.55.
There's more corn being held on the farms in the State than last year, 25 million bushels compared ot to about 19 million last year but our local supply nearly always runs some below the demand.
