In the Herndon game, the Panthers grabbed a 5-2 lead early in the game, saw it vanish' as the persistent Hornets came back to tie the score, and finally lost out in 8th inning after spotting Herndon a 1-0 first inning lead. Raoo ah an nock scored in a rally highlighted by Frank Rilev’s tremendous ground-rule double with the bases loaded. Each team then scored a single run in the third inning, but Hurndon came back with another lone tally in the fourth and two more in the fifth to tie the score. This situation existed until the end of the regulation 7•nnin«r game, but in the top of the 8th Hurndon pushed acrossed two -uns. and although the Panthers loaded the bases in their half, thev were unable to score, and suffered a defeat in their first league game. • Rappahannock now has a 1-2 record as thev lost their opener to Madison High bv an 8-3 score.
