Meets in Roanoke
The annual board meeting of the Virginia Tuberculosis Association was held in Roanoke on April 2nd. Representing Warren and Raopahannock at the meeting were Mrs W. E. Sealock. Jr. and Mrs. Gladys Lewis of Front Rov-al.
Highlight of the meeting was a talk by .Dr. E. C. Drash of the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He compared sanatorium care versus home care for the tuberculous patient He feels that best results are obtained from rest and consistent drugs with sanatorium care being the best place to receive treatment because freauent sputum studies can be made, frequent and special x-rays can be taken and drugs may be administered intelligently because the patient may be susceptible to a certain drug or allergic to one. For home care .Dr. Drash stated, the family doctor must have unusual cbilitv. the family and the oatient must be capable of restraint and good iudgment. all dishes must be sterilized and drugs must be administered on time.
