Results: he has been asked to serve on a national committee to work out the details for an official herd type classification program for the Angus Breed
NOW IS TOE TIME for Rappahannock Breeders to step in and take the lead. Breeders of the purebred or grade cattle who do not enroll their herds will surely regret it within the next five years.
If you know: which bulls sired which calves, the dam each calf is out of, and the date each calf was dropped; you are ready to enroll your herd. If not then he sure to keep record of which bull is bred to which cows during this years breeding season and , you’ll be ready to enroll when the 1958 crop starts.
A cow is worth no more than the performance of her calves!
The Virginia Division of Markets has agreed to provide free grading service for one year for all breeders participating in this program for the first time in 1957.

Ours being strictly an agricultural county, with orcharding as the leading enterprise, farmers are having rough enough time as it is producing feed for their livestock and endeavoring to make a little net profit without having to feed other critters. Unquestionably deer are becoming steadiy more numerous.
