For service-connected deaths after January 1, 1957 and to qualify for the new indemnity compensation, a widow is defined as a woman who was married to the veteran (1) before the expiration of 15 years from the end of the service period in which the death causing injury or disease was incurred or aggravated; or (2) for 5 or more years, or (3) for any period of time if a child was born of the marriage.

Tile ASC county committee is taking steps to correct a misunderstanding that has cropped up lately among wool producers concerning the 1957 wool price support program.
Under the program an incentive payment rate of 62 cents per lb. has been established which is equal to 101 per cent of the parity price for wool as of September 15, 1956 ASC Chairman H. S. Barksdale explained. The price of wool in some areas has taken a slight rise recently, and certain.producers are receiving 62 cents per pound, or better. Many of these producers think that by receiving a sales price equal to or more than the incentive rate. They aren’t eligible for a 1957 incentive. That is not the case. Mr. Barksdale said. It is definitely to the producer’s advantage to get as high a price as possible, and he explained why.
