Years ago, I had to stay after school and write the above because I did not study it at home. I read it over once, and wrote it on my paper and to this day I remember it and I have said it over and over again to my children and my friends whenever they tell a long drawnout story when a few words would tell the complete tale.
We are sometimes very much bored when some one is telling a long tale or making a unreasonably long speech when a few words brief and well chosen can tell us all there is to say.
How much more enjoyabe is a short story that tells us all there is to it in a few words and leaves upon us an impression of its worth.
