Stanley The Rappahannock Chiefs defeated Flint Hill in the July 4th game at Moffett’s Field with a score of 9 to 4.
Ned Settle was the winning pitcher for the Chiefs. On July 5th, the Chiefs traveled over the mountain to Luray for what many fans think, the best (rame of the season. Riley struck out 14, but Judd, pitching for Lurav, struck out 20 giving the game to Luray with a score of 1 to 0.
On Sunday, July 7th. the Chiefs traveed to Stanley to be defeated bv the Stanley Red Sox with a score of 9 to 3. Too bad two (defeats) in a row!
Sunday, July 14th, the Chiefs will play Luray on their home diamond. This is expected to be a ‘‘bang-up game” as Luray only won by one run at their home game Friday night.
