News
A sendee of Holy Communion, commemorating the first Holy Communion held at Jamestown in 1607. was celebrated Sunday morning at 11:30 at the site of the first Episcopal Church in Bromfield Parish. The Rev. John R. Frizzell. Jr , the present Rector ' of Bromfield Parish, was the Celebrant. „■ The site of this Church, built in 1754 and tom down in 1812 because of anti-English feelings, is located on the farm of Mr. and _ Mrs. C. M. Ramey at Slate Mills.
In 1930 an altar teas built on :he exact location of the first Church- It was at this altar that we worshiped.
A goodly number of people of different denominations, gathered together in this beautiful setting to celebrate the Holy Communion and to realize that we, as were our forefathers many years ago, were gathered together to worship God and to give thanks for our many blessings—the right to live in this wonderfulcountry of ours and the right of freedom of religion and speech. I
The planning Committee met at the Court House on July 8th and made mote definite plans for the tours and tea.
