In a wire of appreciation for this international concern the American Red Cross stated that Hurricane Audrey has climaxed “our greatest six-month” natural disaster period. Tornadoes, floods, and hurricanes have hit 21 of our 48 states causing suffering for one million persons.
“With other countries helping us,” Mrs. O’Connell said, “we should do all we possibly can to help ourselves. Think it over and send what you can to Mrs. A. M. Verner. Washington. Va.”
