He was the first physician to use an automobile in his practises and was an ardent advocate of the replacement of Old Dobbin by the new contraption. So much so that he built his own and, in 18%, entered it in a race sponsored by Cosmopolitan magazine. Part of the course]ran through the streets of New York, but this is not pertinent.
