Kelly, known and admired by a host of friends, was an outstanding 4-H Club member. Following graduation from Rappahannock High School in 1954, he attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute where he was awarded * Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry. While at Tech, Kelly was a member of . the Block and Bridle Club and the Livestock Judging Team. Upon graduation he was employed by the Extension Service as Assistant County Agent in Shenandoah County. He entered active duty with the Airforce last October. He would have been 23 year* old on July 6.
The deceased is survived by his parents and four brothers; Glenn, Randall, Francis and Lyle Updike all of Washigton, and numerous relatives throughout Rappahannock and adjoining counties.

Dr. John Peyton Snead, IV. who was a graduate of the June graduating class in Medicine at the University of Virginia, was one of three in the class to be selected to A.O.A., an honorary medical society. Members are selected to the society on the basis of character and scholarship.
Dr. and Mrs. Snead left Wednesday for Tacona. Washington where Dr. Snead will intern with the Army as a lieutenant.
