Nearly 100 Rappahannock County residents have received blood transfusions in area hospitals in the last several years. Many of these owe their lives to the blood received
You may have given that blood. Since the American Red Cross supplies the majority of the blood to area hospitais, the Red Cross in all likelihood collected it.
You may not have given any blood. Rapahannock County residents have used over 400 bottles of blood in three years, and has donated or replaced less than 150 pints. The last two bioodmobile visits collected a total of 56 bottles. *
It is easy to see that those who have received blood have not always assumed the responsibility.to replace the blood. Neither hare other citizens thought in terms of the extreme value of their blood. Not only have the* not realized what it could mean to others, but they have not thought of what it might mean to them and their families when illnesstrikes.
