The town of Culpeper plans a Bicentennial Celebration to be held the week of August 31 to September 5, 1959.

Miss Myrla Anne Opdifce, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Updike of Washington, Va. has been chosen by the Washington Town Council to represent the town of Washington as a princess in the Bicentenial Queen.'** court.

Queen Culpeper has been chosen from one of the oldest families in Culpeper. She is Miss Jackie Bragg. The Queen’s coronation . will be held on the morning of September 3 and at 12 JO p.m. a luncheon will be held for the distinguished guests^ A parade will be held in the afternoon, after which a receptiofi will be held far*, the queen and her court on the' Court House lawn. •On

the nights of September 3rd and 4th, a pageant will be held on the high school grounds depicting Culpeper 200 years ago and today. On the night of September 4th a ball will be held in honor of the Queen and her court.

Lee and Prentiss Greenawav came away with eight ribbons from the Ruritan Horse Show in Warrenton Saturday. Prentiss won 5 and Lee 3. They are the son and daughter 0f Mr. and Mrs. Leon Greenaway of Washington, Va.
