At the annual 4-H Livestock Judging Contest held in connection with the Atlantic Rural Exposition in Richmond the Virginia Livestock Judging Team placed first.Other state teams | competing and their placings are as follows: South Carolina, Wqt Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Indiana and Maryland.
Randall and Francis Updike, Rappahahannok County members of the State team, Donald Brill, Clatke County membeij, and Dickie Melbourne, Montgomery County member are the 4-H’ers making up the 1959 State 4-H Livestock ✓ Judging Team. Franjcis ''Updike was the third high scoring indivividual in the contest with Randall Updike the fifth high dividual.
