Virginia State Fair officially opened at Richmond Friday, September 25 with extensive exhibits and a jam-packed midway. Patsy Woodward, Dickie Dennis, Jacqueline Marlowe, Tommy Woodward and 1 attended the fair Saturday, which was the day for 4-H and F.F.A. members to show cattle in the Atlantic Rural Junior Dairy Show. I was extremely interested in this smee 1 had been to many of the local fairs and had friends and relatives from Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier and Loudoun Counties who were exhibiting Holstein-Freisians Upon arrival it the grounds, with judging underway, 1 was delighted to find Dwight Peck, my cousin from Herndon, had _captured first place in Junior Division of Showing and Fitting and Margaret Ann Fletcher, a friend from Oakton, was first in Senior Showing and Fitting. In all of the classes entered, Dwights animals placed in the money and he returned home a proud and happy lad. I was sitting on a tack box chating with Jimmy Eustace when vho should come strolling through he cattle bam but the one and >nly Dr. Cooper. I spoke and he lid likewise, but 1 am sure he did lot recognize me.
